Dowdy, son of George K. Dowdy and Unknown, was born abt. 1828 in TN; Elizabeth Unknown was born abt. 1849, also in TN. I do not have a marriage date or place for the. They did have three children, the eldest of which was George Washington Dowdy, b. 1857 in Missouri. My recommendation to you is to contact Connie Perkins, who is very active with the Stoddard County genealogy and I am sure would be interested in hearing from you.     3. Years ago I heard where the Dowdy's were related to the Watson and Johnson family from Sikeston area. If this is true I might be able to let you know something about one Martha My grandma maiden name was Hunt. First married William Dill--One daughter born --her name was Bertha---Then married John Watson which is my grandpa--They had one son my dad Robert--- I don't know how the Dowdy was related. May have been my great great grandma maiden name. Thanks for any help you may have.
