LeeAnn, I have searched many times, and given as much information as I have, trying to find information regarding the death of Cliff's grandmother, Lydia Elizabeth (Wilkinson/ Wilkerson)) McGee/McGhee. This is so difficult, because the family didn't keep records. her sons (6) and her daughters (2) never learned to read or write. I found Lydia in the 1880 Indiana census, Showing her to be 8 tears old, as the step daughter of a Wallingford. Her mothers given name is Sarah. Her brother is John S. Wilkinson. John is 11 The mother Sarah and both Lydia and John were born in IN. She had step brothers and sisters, too. I have nothing further until I found the marriage license in Marble Hill, Bollinger County. "Lydia E. Wilkinson to Daniel J. MCGEE, Sept 29, 1889. The license state "They were joined together by a minister of the gospel in the home of the bride's mother". I haven't found a Wallingford living in Bollinger, Butler, Stoddard or Wayne Counties. Lydia is listed with Dan and her children in Holcumb, Dunklin Co., in 1910. Daniel is a widow in the 1920 census, for Stoddard County, His surname is spelled McGhee in the 1920 census. The next official record I have is the marriage of "Bertie MCGEE to William Booker". Lydia's Name is on the license showing consent to the marriage of her underage daughter, born 1903. The license was issued in Marble Hill Bollinger Co., MO. I know by now that I may never find a record. Her name is "Liddie McGee" in the 1910 census, LIDIA WILKINSON n the 1889 marriage license and Wilkinson or Wilkerson is the surname listed on the death certificates of her children. I have the death records on all the males. There is a "Hankins, James F." living 3 doors down in the 1910 census, so its possible that he is related to her. Does that help for you to search? When she died all of the children that we knew of were living. Samuel McGee, stepson, Walter McGee, son ( he sometimes worked in a funeral home), William, Clyde, Millage, Merrill, Bertie (Alberta), Lillie, b 1908 and Earl born 1912. I hope this will lead to something. Elizabeth
