I looked in the Chiles-Cooper funeral record again and it actually says, "(dau. Mrs. Frank Bolin)." My pea-brain added the "of" when it shouldn't have been there. But the date of death does say 10 May 1937 - could be a typo. Thank you for correcting my mistake. LeAnn Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have been researching the Benwell's in mid Missouri and mid Illinois for years. I recently acquired a death certificate from a John Benwell aka John Link (this is what his death certificate says). His father is listed as Sylvester Link and his mother as Mary Dodge. It says he was born April 9, 1902 in Bloomfield Missouri and he died in 1948 at the age of 46 from tuberculosis in a sanitorium in East St. Louis Illinois. I was cannot find this John in the census's under Benwell or Link. There is a John Link in Stoddard County I can find, but he lived into the 1980's. Anyone know who this man is and why he renamed himself Benwell? Please email me. carriembenwell@earthlink.net Thank you! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. I would look to the marriage licenses from that county. I am related to Davis and Smith. W.H. Smith was my great grandmother's(Sarah Jane Henson) Second husband. My grandmother Wilda Wright Davis was orphaned and was raised by unknowns and told her parents had died. Little did my grandmother know that her mother and father Sarah Jane Wright and William Wright were living 15 miles away. They raised the three sons and gave away their two daughters. 1. [STODDARD, MO] Stoddard Co Newspapers, Births, Deaths, Etc.
    2. Hi out there - I haven't been able to really get into Stoddard Co records yet and I have a few questions if someone could enlighten me a bit. The Bloomfield Vindicator - is there any archives online, or is it all at the library in Dexter, or?? What years are available? I am most interested right now in somewhere around 1885 through about 1895. Are there birth records available for that time? Or death records? I know that the Missouri State site starts at 1910 or somewhere around there but are there records available from earlier? Actually, I think that's pretty much all my questions for now. Thank you all :) valerie

My mother heard him to say that he wouldn't cross the street to speak to his biological family, and he never told anyone his parents names to my knowing.
