    3. Hi, I'm new to the list and want to put my query out in the hopes someone can help me out. I'm looking for information on my gg grandfather William Stewart. My great grandmother Sally Belle Stewart was born Dec. 11, 1891 in Puxico, Stoddard Co., Missouri. Her parents were William Stewart and Avyrilla Tennesse "Tennie" Glover. The family story is that Sally Belle Stewart was orphaned when she was around 2 or 3 years old when both parents died within 6 months of each other. She was brought up by her mother's brother and his wife in Obion County, Tennessee, so knew about her mother's family but was told nothing about her father except that his name was William and that he was somewhat older than her mother. The story goes that the family disapproved of the marriage and would not talk about him.. So all I know about William Stewart is that he was living in Stoddard County during the time of his daughter's birth in 1891, and suspect he died there. If anyone has any information or could point me in any direction that might help at all I would be eternally grateful! Brenda Boyt [email protected]

    1. [MOSTODDA-L] JOHN KIRKLAND
    2. Phyllis Campbell
    3. Does anyone have any informationt about a John Kirkland? My John Kirkland died in Arkansas in 1911 and is buried in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Center Ridge, Arkansas in Conway County. His headstone dates are 1879-1911 but who knows if they are correct? He was my great-grandfather and he married Martha Ann Williams aka Mattie or Granny Matt. She was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Williams and Ellanda Jane Kissire. Martha Ann Williams and John Kirkland had one son, Elmer John Lee Kirkland who was born in 1903. When Elmer was about 2 years old in 1905, John Kirkland left his son and his wife who had gone blind from cataracts and we do not know where he was until just before he died. When he became sick he came back to his wife so she could take care of him until he died. So we have a man with 6 years of his life unaccounted for and he was young when he left, 26 if the headstone dates are correct, and only 32 when he returned to Center Ridge. My grandmother used to tell me of rumors that he had another family somewhere, possibly Izard County, Arkansas. Does anyone have a John Kirkland that you do not know where or when he died or where he is buried? He was a blacksmith, sold dishes and worked on clocks. I have the only known picture of my John Kirkland and would make a JPG to send to anyone who may think they know him. This is my brick wall and I need all the help I can get with it so even the smallest bit of information may be helpful. I am forwarding this to Tennessee, Kentucky and Missouri lists because John Kirkland may have wandered into those states or he may have been from there and we do not know where he was born. Thank you. Phyllis

    1. [MOSTODDA-L] BUYER BEWARE.
    2. Phyllis Campbell
    3. I am sending this out to as many people in my email address book that I can so someone does not make the same costly mistake we have. If it saves one person the problems we have gone through then it is worth it. Today our lawsuit ended and an evil man got a right of way through our property. They call it right of way by prescription or squatter's rights. I say it is a right of way by deception. Every low life liar that could be dug up was brought in to lie and bear false witness against us. My husband teaches Sunday School and this was brought out in court and they ripped him to pieces. The opposing attorney, in his closing arguments, said his uncle always would tell him to watch out for them fellers that put religion out in front of you because they will always be the first ones to screw you. This lawyer's wife is the head of the United Methodist Women in this state and they are both members of a Methodist Church in this town. This evil man has beaten a donkey on the road in front of his neighbors and when the donkey wouldn't move he dragged it to death behind his truck, with neighbors and small children watching. He dragged a dead calf behind his truck up and down the road. I have heard stories of him holding a gun on children. He tried to run my husband down with a truck when he was walking on the road. He threw a 15 inch crescent wrench at us. Most everyone on this 4 mile road hates him. We were not allowed to bring any of this out in court because they said it had nothing to do with a right of way. His attorneys could invent things that we did but we could not tell the truth about him. It was like when the jury could not hear all the evidence in the OJ trial. It was very unfair. Let me give you all a word of advice. Never buy a piece of property without having the seller give you a written statement guaranteeing that there are no right of ways on the land and be sure to have it notarized. The person we bought the land from was someone my husband had known for 40 years so trust no one. Yes, we had a title search done but these right of ways are NOT covered in a simple title search. Also, never let anyone cross your property for any uninterrupted amount of time for hunting or accessing another piece of land or for any other reason. After a certain amount of time, they have an established right of way and you can do nothing about it and your property is devalued. You will have to check your state laws to find out how long because I believe it differs in various states. Phyllis
