Any ROLLMAN marriages between especially interested in late 1900's. Thanks Pat
I found some more pictures that probably were made in Stoddard County. I do not know who some of the people in the pictures are. I will put a question mark after the names I do not know. I will send a copy to you by email if you want it. There is one with Fritz Lape ?, Lois Hooks and Grace Maulding. There is one with Lois Hooks and Jessie Breece ?. Charlie Baker ?, Grace Maulding and Lois Hooks. Sanders ?, Emma ?, and Farrel Hopkins? Farrel Hopkins ?, Grace Hopkins ?,Harold Ross ? and Grace Maulding. Phyllis
Does anyone have any Cravens in their family files? I have 10 pictures of these Cravens. They look as if they were all taken at the same time. My Aunt Grace Ellen Maulding is in some of them. There is a Jack Craven, a May Craven and an older lady that I assume to be the mother of Jack and May because on the back of the photos is written Ma Craven. Jack and May could also be husband and wife and then this Ma Craven could be Jack's mother. If these photos are of anyone in your family I would be glad to send you a picture via email. Phyllis
Dear List, Does anyone have access to any cemetary lists for around Puxico? I am trying to find the date of death and location of the grave for my g grandmother Mary Vessels, who died around 1890, and a g aunt Belle Salter who died in the late 50s I think. Betty
Could I have the Guardian Inventory Record on Baily - thanks
Hello everyone, I have added a new section to the Stoddard Co. site this week, "Guardians Inventory Records" and I will be adding new names each week. These records seem to be a court ordered accounting of the holdings of the minor. This book starts in 1889. There isn't much information provided, so I have abstracted each page. Not every page has a scanned copy. If your ancestor is listed and does not have a copy, but you would like to have one, please contact me. And, as always, if you find I have spelled your ancestors name wrong, please let me know the correction. Surnames added this week: BAILY BOLLINGER BRIDGES CALL CANADY CHRISTIAN COOPER CUSHIONS FORD GAMBILL GILLISPIE HAYS HIGGINBOTHAM HILL HOBBS HODGE HOLLIS HOUCK JOHNSON JONES KELSO KINNEY McCOLLUM MOORE NICHOLS RANDALL RHODES RODGERS SHANDEY SHERRY SHRUM SIMMONS SMITH SNIDER STEPHENS TANKERSLEY TAYLOR THROWER WILKERSON Connie Perkins CC for MOGenWeb Stoddard Co., MO http://www.rootsweb.com/~mostodd2/index.html
Here is some information I have researched on Hagys in Stoddard Co., MO. There are two Robert M. Hagy and both are listed in the 1900 Census of Liberty TWP, Stoddard Co., Mo. (I have a copy of the Census). Henry and Rachael (Hazlip) Hagy had a son Robert M. Hagy b. Nov 11, 1871, d. Apr 29, 1952 (per gravestone in Hagy Cem. (have picture)). Also on the gravestone is Anna b. Feb 17, 1875, d. Sept 28, 1967. I believe this to be a second wife to Robert M. Hagy because on the 1900 Census he is listed just above his parents (Henry & Rachael) and his wife name is Dora. I also found on the 1900 Census Robert M. Hagy listed under his mother Menervia Howell (widow) and showing having one child Robert M. Hagy age 19, b. Jul 1880. Robert is the son of John Hagy b. 16 Feb 1838, Tennessee, d. 20 Apr 1884, Stoddard Co., Mo. and Menervia Jane Neal. This is my input on both Robert M. Hagys. Hello, I am new to your list. I am researching my Alanson and Harriett Barnes line in Oregon and Douglas Counties Mo. I have recently found that several of Alanson's children married in Stoddard county and that one son, Edward may have resided in Stoddard County. I would like to order a copy of a marriage record from 1889. I have the address of the county clerk but wondered if someone could tell me the charge for a xerox copy of a marriage record. I am not positive that this Sinda Barnes who married William Edwards is my great aunt. Any help would be appreciated. My thanks to you... Gena Gates Lally Sun City AZ
I am descended from: Abraham Wagley and Maria Henson Joseph Wagley and Martha Elizabeth Starks James Wellington Wagley and Josephine White (Texas & Arkansas) Ella Mae Wagley and Robert Ance Flowers (Center Ridge, Conway County, Arkansas) Alice Flowers and Elmer John Lee Kirkland (Charter Oak, Stoddard County, Missouri & Center Ridge, Conway County, Arkansas) Is anyone else on the list connected to this Wagley line? I would like to hear from you. Phyllis
Dear Folks: My cousin (Ila Myra Proffer Smith) and I (Vivian Swindell DeLong) have been looking for the connections to our various families. It is understandable that we have lost track of the women because they get married and change their names and if we don't find marriage records, we loose an aunt and a bunch of cousins! In the Bollinger family, we believe there was a rift between the Stoddard County and the Bollinger County families -- probably about whose side some of them supported during the Civil War. Was Jephet the ancestor of the Stoddard County Bollingers? We would appreciate information about his children and their families. In the Swindell family, we have the descendants of Thomas Swindell and Mary Catherine Proffer. Thomas Swindell had brothers and sisters. So far, we haven't had much luck finding anyone to help us reconstruct Thomas's brothers and sisters families and descendants. We believe that most of them, if not all, lived in Stoddard County. As for the Proffer family, the family members have pretty well been reunited. However, they were prominent people in the County and we believe there are many stories of interest that would be deeply appreciated by the family. We would appreciate having information about our families -- and would appreciate hearing from any of you just with a "hello." Thank you for your interest. Vivian
Dear Listmembers, It's been a while since I posted the names I'm researching. My current brick wall is the death dates of my ggreat grandfather Washington Wright Sherry and his wife Doll Barnes. According to family stories they were both killed in a buggy accident and my great grandfather Otho "Roy" Sherry was raised by his aunt Winnie S. Sherry and Uncle Christopher C. Parke in Stoddard County, MO. Washington Sherry was listed on the Allen County, KY Tax Lists until 1886. I have no information on Doll Barnes. Her surname also could have been Boren. In 1880 Washington Sherry was listed as single in the census. My great grandfather was born in August 1882 in Kentucky. Many of my family members moved to Stoddard County, MO between 1880 and 1905. I'm interested in connecting with anyone researching the Sherry/Parke/Barnes/Boren surnames. I have quite a bit of research for the Sherry's that I'm willing to share. Does anybody have access to the 1860 Stoddard Co census and could look up Elijah Potts? Thank you in advance. Sandy
I am trying to find information that Sarah REED who married George BOLICK is the sister of Martha Cynthalia REED who married Henry BOLICK of Clay Co. Indiana. I know Martha returned to Stoddard Co. Missouri with her children after the death of her husband in Clay Co., Indiana. I know Henry BOLICK had a brother George. Is this the same George BOLICK who is buried in North Antioch Cemetery outside Bloomfield, Missouri?. Any information would be appreciated. I have Sarah and Martha's parents as John Reed and Eady Lough (Lowe). From Stoddard Co., Missouri. Is there a connection between these REED's and other REED's in Clay Co., Indiana? Recently I joined the list and made a query about anyone knowing anything about my great great grandfather William Stewart and his wife. I was made aware by a list member that was able to provide me with their marriage date that I had made an error in mentioning his wife's name. Her name was Avyrilla Tennessee Glover who went by Tennie. Her maiden name was Glover but she was married previously to a William "Bud" Killion in TN, had four children with him, they divorced and she then married William Stewart. I forgot that she would be going by her married name of KILLON, not Glover, so I will put my info out again. I'm trying to find any information on William Stewart I don't know anything about him, no dates of any kind except that he probably died in 1893 or 1894, but the little info I do have suggests he was from Stoddard County, possibly Puxico. He married Tennie Glover KIllion (born July 6, 1861) on Sept. 14, 1890, which was recorded in the Marriage Book of Stoddard County (by Thorn &Thorn). William and Tennie Stewart had one daughter, Sally Belle born Dec. 11, 1891 in Puxico. Sally Belle was orphaned around 1893 or 1894 when both parents died within 6 months of each other as the family story goes. She went to live with her mother's brother, Bolin Green Glover, in TN. Tennie, who's family was from Obion Co., TN, had a brother Charles Glover, living in Stoddard County at the time, and he was a charter member of the First Baptist Church in Puxico. I mention all this on the chance that Tennie and William Stewart met through her brother, or possibly the church, and if anyone knows of any Stewarts attending the First Baptist Church of Puxico? I don't want to leave any stone unturned in my quest to find my ancestor! If anyone can help me out I'll be eternally grateful! Brenda Boyt [email protected]
