    3. Hi, I have had good luck in calling a funeral home in the area and asking them. You could call the local chamber of commerce to get a funeral homes name call information get the number and see what they can tell you. This has worked for me in the past. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XMB.2ACE/855 Message Board Post: Hi Everyone; I was wondering if anyone had any information about a marriage between an Anna Charles who married a William Williamson in Stoddard Co., MO on Sept. 19,1920. Anna was born July 15, 1902 and died Nov 12, 1939. She is buried in Bethany Cemetery in Dunklin Co., MO. Wiliam was born Aug 27, 1902 in Bernie, Stoddard Co., MO and died in Dec. of 1973 in Bernie. William's parents were Nancy Puckett, daughter of B. F. Puckett and Sabrini Whitlock, and James "Jim" Meredith Williamson, son of George W. Williamson and Talisa Elizabeth Hopper. William had a younger brother named Richard Columbus Williamson. He married Edith Bell Irby. Jim Williamson was the older brother of my gr grandmother, Alice Williamson. I am trying to find any children that Anna and William Williamson had. I have the marriage records for: James Williamson and Nancy Puckett. William Williamson and Anna Charles And Richard C. Williamson and Edith Irby William remarried at least once after Anna's death. One was to a lady named Bessie. She is the wife buried beside him in the Bernie Cemetery in Stoddard Co. Jim and Nancy Puckett Williamson and B. F. Puckett are buried in the Edmonds Cemetery outside Bernie. I found a Willie and Annie Williamson listed in Richland Twp in Stoddard Co., on the 1930 census. I believe this is them but would like some verification. There are a lot of children listed for them. As far as I know, William Williamson lived his whole life in Stoddard Co., MO and this is the only William and Anna Williamosn on the 1930 census. I would appreciate any help on any of these people. I am trying to trace down the children of Anna Charles and William Williamson's. I would also like to find out who Anna Charle's parents/siblings were. Thank you. Charlotte Christensen

And whether or not they had any children. Alice remarried to a Thomas D. Martin and was living in White Co., AR on the 1910 census and W. C. was remarried to Pearl Westers in 1910. On the 1910 census, Alice has two daughters, Retha and Ruby. They are both listed as Martin's but Retha was born in 1907. I am wondering if it is possible that she was actually the child of W. C. Puckett. I have the marriage records for: W. C. Puckett and Alice Wiliamson and James Williamson and Nancy Puckett. I would appreciate any help on any of these people. 1. [STODDARD, MO] EARP DNA established
    2. Jackie Johnston
    3. There seems to be some degree of interest in DNA testing on among Earp descendants. This science has come a long way in just the last couple of years and, in my opinion, is the greatest tool for genealogists to come along in decades. It is just that - a tool - and does not replace good, solid research with primary documents. However, it can rule in - and rule out - relationships and give some much needed direction for further research when one has reached a brickwall. I have thought about establishing a DNA project for the Earp line for some time as I also manage other DNA projects. Now that the technology has progressed, the time seems right. The EARP DNA Project has been established, and it will no doubt help many people in the future. Briefly, the tests are done on the Y-chromosome which is passed from father to son, and he to his son, etc., thus participants must be male and must have the Earp surname all the way down the male line. If you are a female and wish to have your Earp line tested, a male cousin, uncle, brother, etc., can provide the DNA for your line. The website for the project is: www.familytreedna.com/public/EARP For further details including cost information, please contact me directly. Sharron Spencer EARP Listowner EARP DNA Project Manager

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XMB.2ACE/852.1 Message Board Post: William H. Smith...this is what I have. W. Henry Smith W. Henry Smith3. He married Sarah Jane Henson. Notes for W. Henry Smith: Any way, my most current discovery is this: An aritcle in the Marble Hill press dated August 30, 1894 states; Shot by a "friend' - "The only thing that I regret is that I was killed by a man whom I thought my best friend." These were the words of W.H. Smith as he lay dying at the residence of his brother - in-law, Dr. E.P. Biggs on Union Street, at one o'clock last Sunday morning from the effects of a pistol shot, in the hands of Henry Billings at 9:30 o'clock Saturday evening. Smith lived but four hours after receiving the mortal wound. The men each about 22 years old had been about town together for some time during the evening and had been drinking some. To those who saw them they appeared to be on the best of terms, and in fact they had been, apparently, chums, since Smith's arrival from a western trip about a month ago. They went into Burkett's restaurant about 8:30 and Smith ordered a lunch, at the same time inviting Billings to eat with him. He declined and also declined an offered glass of cider. Smith ate his lunch and during the meal was called to the door by Billings and a short conversation was had. No one knows what was said, however. They then went to J.H. Lutes' grocery store and restaurant and Smith called for dried beef. When the beef had been secured Billings remarked: "You have already eat everthing Burkett had, are you going to eat all that Lutes has?" "Yes sir, I am man enough to do it" replied Smith. Several remarks of this nature passed, suppolsed by the clerk, H. F. Steele, Richard Phelps, Albert Revelle, Andrew Stickler, Charles Hobbs, Sankey Phelps and Harry Wann the only other person in the store, to be good humored joking. Billings then stepped outside for a moment, but soon returned and seated himself by Smith who had in the meantime begun to eat the beef, cutting it from the piece with a barlow knife. Smith put his right arm about Billings' neck, and began moving his hand with the knife in it about his face, making some remark to the effect of "How would you like to be cut?" he had just before done Clerk Steele the same way. Billings then arose and said: "Be careful with that knife, " at the same time carring his hand toward his hip pocket. Smith said in effect: "Pull that thing out here; don't go out in the dark to do it." Billings replied that he had nothing in his pocket to pull out. Smith then said: 'Josh I thought we were good friends." "II thought so too." replied Billings. Some other words between the two followed, and Billings walked out of the door. Those persons then in the restaurant supposed that the matter was ended and that Billings had gone. Shortly after Billings went out Smith walked towards the door, and leaned against it. At this instant Billings fired amd Smith fell, saying, "I am shot!" the ball entering the abdomen and ranging toward the right shoulder. When Billings shot he said: "Now follow me!" he then turned and walked home carrying the pistol in his hand. he was arrested the same night by Constable Slinkard, and waiving preliminary examination was taken to jail Tuesday. Smith was carried to Dr. Reck's office the rear of Dr. Biggs' drug store and Drs. Biggs, Witmer, Sander, Jacques, Reck and Mayfield of Advance summoned. An examination was made and the would declared fatal. [the end] Children of W. Henry Smith and Sarah Jane Henson are: Nellie Smith, b. June 08, 1892, Sturdivant MISSOURI3, d. I was told ( hear say ) from the daughter of William JOHNSON that her father was taken it by Lucy (Durham) MATTHEWS and 2nd husband Cornelius SMITH. Lucy (Durham) MATTHEWS is my GGgrandmother. Anyway I found them on the 1900 and 1910 showing William JOHNSON. I would like to find out who his parents were.
