Your Florence may have been a descendant of Charles Simoneau and Marie Picard, m.6 July,1771 in St.Louis. Possibly a GDau as most sources have her as being born 1815-20 era. Charles Simoneau may have been a veteran of the Battle of Fort St.Carlos during the Rev War at St.Louis,1780. He is listed as a householder in old records in St.Louis. A group of Simoneau's also settled in New Bourbon, near the town of Ste.Genevieve in St.Genevieve Co.,Mo.and lived in that county and Washington Co.,Mo.in the very early days. As I was told by an old Simoneau historian years ago, Indian blood does runs in their family. I have a few Simoneau's in my data base, floating around, mostly from Ste Gen. area.
