The booklet explains it contents: The following list of St. Louis undertakers was complied using the classified ads section of the St. Louis City Directories. The list provides names and addresses as listed in the city directory, with the date being the first year it appeared... The list also takes names and information from the Obituaries and Funeral/Death Notices in the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Carondelet News and the current phonebook. Entries were taken every fifth year (approximately), therefore some small, short-lived business may not have been included.
