It would only be helpful if the birth parents had very unusual surnames. There were about 40 males born on my son's birthday in the whole state. Many of the names were too common, i.e. Jefferson, Green, Smith, etc. BUT, you could get lucky if the parents you are researching had an unusual name. Unfortunately, it is a chance you take.
