It doesn't help much with William but it's probably safe to assume Barbara died before 1880. There is a picture of Paul's headstone on find a grave website that appears very weathered, so its' possible that his wife's headstone is there too, but unreadable when the transcriber recorded the stones. You might contact the St. Louis County library special collections department to see if they have a book with names for New Pickers.
