    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: Georgia1910 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.stlouis/10054.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: There is a Sammie Messina who died in 1945 and whose father was Pietro and mother was Maria Quartuccio. He was born Oct 1, 1875 but the record shows that he is single. Could he have gone by a nickname or be a relative? Also, death records are not always correct. Depends on how well the informant knew the deceased person. For obituaries, there is an index to many of the years of the St. Louis Post Dispatch newspaper. If you have a date of death or burial but the year is not indexed, you can still request a lookup. http://www.slpl.lib.mo.us/libsrc/obit.htm What would Giuseppe be in English? There was a Joe Messina with a wife named Gracia on the 1910 census. Says that they arrived in 1905 and that "Joe" was born about 1875. Also says that they have been married for 12 years and there are no children listed with them. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
