Possibly George's mother since she was also in Cook County at the time of her death. Have you found the family on a 1930 census at all? I found a Catherine, widowed, living with her son-in-law Charles Barnum in Illinois. Found George and Louise living in Chicago with George's brother John who is 21 years old. The census shows that George and Louise are 37 years old and their age at first marriage was 25. So, they have been married 12 years but also enumerated with them is someone who is listed as "son" but with a different last name (first name is Leroy) and who is 18 years old. That is strange but there are other enumerations on this page that don't make sense relationship wise. There are children listed as sons to other head of households but with different last names. And the marriage age and the difference between their current age doesn't agree with the ages of the so called children of the head of household.
