Ryder against The Republic of Mexico Before The Joint Commission of The United States of America and The Republic of Mexico in Washington, DC. CLAIM No. 101 Edmund Wetmore, Attorney for claimant 24 Pine St, New York New York: Wm.L. Stone,Jordan & Whittmore,Law,book, and Job pronters, No.142 Fulton St. 1870 Claims vs. Mexico, 1868: --- Patrick F. Ryder, born in Dublin Ireland 1800.(no date of birth). A naturalized citizen of the USA in the St.Louis Circuit Court, State of Missouri, 26th of March 1833. Occ: Merchant of dry-goods - in Dec of 1883 I took a guess that the above Patrick F. Ryder may be the fater of Paul J. Ryder, however, Patrick may be a Grandfather to Paul J. Ryder, also I'm thinking Ann C. Ryder may have been a Daughter-in-law to Patrick F. ?, because I don't know who is Paul J. and Mary Ryder's fater was. Its not clear how/why Paul J. Ryder came to New Orleans La, however the information provided, [The Lepere family owned a grocery business in St. Louis city and was VERY well off--to the tune of having an assessed valuation in 1870 of $20,000 plus $2,000 in personal property!] and just thinking again, Ann C. Patrick F. may somehow known each other, being both Merchants in St.Louis ?. The big problem for me has been to find Paul J., my Great- Grandfather, after Sept 1887 ???. I feel if I can connect Paul J. in St.Louis with Patrick F. say, I just may find some information about what happen to him and how my Grandfather and his little brother left New Orleans and maybe why. I want to thank all for the help given, I also hope that the information I'm giving helps others in their search. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
