I think I got them all. Theresa Q: Do you have his obituary? A: Yes, ( See below ) * 4D Wednesday Oct 10, 1962 St. Louis Post - Dispatch LANE, William W., 1322 Shenandoah, Oct 9, 1962, beloved uncle of Fannie Rogers, Elmer Matthews and Alvin Taylor, step-brother of Bessie Robison and friend of Beatrice Schmidt. Funeral from McLAUGHLIN'S 2301 Lafayette, Thurs., 9:30 a.m. Interment Doe Run, MO. Q: Are there any other Lanes buried there? A: I don't think so, but the lady said there are LAYNES in the local area. You said: The 1930 census shows a William H Lane family living in St. Francois County. This William's father was born in Tennessee. My answer: from his death certificate it shows he was born May 22, 1897 Missouri no other info. William Washington LANE's parents are William Henry LANE b. 1858 ILL. no County on his death certificate and Elzora PUGH b.1875 KY. no other info, she died after 1900 census in Wayne Co,MO. in her late 20's. You said: Maybe they were married in Tennessee because William had relatives there. My answer: I don't have a clue at all, I know nothing. :( You said: Any possiblity that they were married on a river boat and the marriage was recorded at the place where the boat was normally docked. My answer: I have no idea???? Q: How do you know that they lived and died in St. Louis? A: Maybe I worded it wrong... I do know for a fact they were living in St.Louis in 1948 until his death in 1962 because when my mother was 12 yrs. old she stayed a summer with them. I believe or think they were there before that. That's all I know of him in St.Louis for sure 100%. My one Uncle told me he went by W.W. LANE also. Q: Have you found William on any of the censuses? A: Yes, Only have found family on census 1900 & 1910, can't find the father Wm. Henry LANE anywhere before 1900. And the ones I seen with his father's name William or a Henry I posted and still for years now nothing. :( ( see 1900 & 1910 census below ) P.S. 1900 Is wife wife Elzora PUGH and 1910 is with 2nd wife and step-mother to W.W.
