This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/WMB.2ACE/4733.1 Message Board Post: Sorry, I don't know Rhonda, but if the readers of the messages on this board seek living persons, I can suggest three websites : 1) http://anybirthday.com/search.htm This site gives you (for free) the exact date of birth and a zip code the person used when generating a record---perhaps by applying for a drivers license or registering to vote. There may be a large quantity of hits in response to a search for a moderately common name. You can divide the search into ten parts, electing to do one or two each day. You do this by entering a single digit (zero to nine) in the window for zip code. For those willing to pay a fee, they can obtain addresses. There is also a link to a site that provides a list of about 3,300 Americans born on any date you select. 2) US SEARCH http://www.ussearch.com/consumer/index.jsp?fc=blue&TID=&adID=2041043263&sourceid=&adsource=27 This site requests surname, age and state. For free you get the city and state---and the option to buy public records. 3) http://switchboard.com/ This is a national telephone directory. Its advantage is that it does not insist that you provide the name of the state. There are messages on this board that discuss the Social Security Death Index, which is a good source of dates of birth. I like to use this version : http://ssdi.rootsweb.com/ It has an Advanced Search that permits you to search by first name and another fact. It has a form letter to apply for the decedent's SS-5 form. It allows one to click on "Add Post-em" to add an annotation to the entry---such as one's name and address. Reg Niles
