The first one to be listed in the St. Louis Gould's directory shows up in 1880 living at the the rear of 1023 Gratiot. Then in 1890, there is a Michael O'Malley who is a sargeant with the police and who lived at the rear of 1438 Papin. In the same year (1890), there is a Bridget who is the widow of Michael and she lived at 1430 N. 20th. Then in 1911, there is a Michael (maybe this is the son) who is a Captain with the sixth district. It also says that the sixth district is bounded by the river east and is located at 900 Angelica. His residence was 4655 Wagoner Place. Of all of the addresses here, only Bridget's address at 1430 N. 20th is in the old Kerry Patch neighborhood. I would check census info on both Michaels. Could be father and son.
