My mother, Marie Carver (Lang) must be the same age as your grandmother. She was the daughter of Elizabeth Deuschitz and John Lang. Elizabeth was Theresa Deuschitz sister. She died when my mother was 5 and my mom was raised in an orphan's home. We had a lot of contact with members of her family, but I never got to meet the Fiacre family and learn much about the whole history. My Mom's recollections were vague and she spent much of her childhood separated from everyone. She ended up living with my aunt and uncle, Theresa and Fabian Deuschitz when she got out of the orphan's home at fourteen. I don't think there was a lot of family history discussed, however. I was raise in St. Louis until I was 18 and went away to college, but didn't have the interest in family history at that time. I've lived away, except for a short time, since then. I am interested in any history of the rest of the Deuschitz, Fiacre or Rakonik families since y! our grandmother's time. Do you know if anyone has done any genealogy work since then?
