During WWII it was the US ARMY Air Corps. The US Air Force came into being later, 1947. The National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis, Missouri, held Officers separated after June 29, 1917 and Enlisted personnel separated after October 31, 1912. However the records were destroyed by fire in the St. Louis Center in 1973.
