Peter HAMPEL [1834-1907] is the son of Peter HAMPEL and Magdelina THINES, he married Anna MATOUSHEK and they had 12 children, of which 9 lived to adulthood. They lived in Jefferson County and City of St. Louis, Missouri [page 1] LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT. Know all men by these presents: That I, Peter Hampel Sr. of the County of Jefferson, and the State of Missouri being of sound mind and memory, do make and publish this my LAST WILL and TESTAMENT, in manner and form following: first) I give and bequeath to my son Joseph Hampel the South part off of N W 1/4 of S W 1/4 in Section No 34 in Township 43 Range 5 E and to contain thirty acres. allso. the S pt of N E 1/4 of S E 1/4 in Section 33 Township 43 Range 5 E to contain thirty acres. in Jeff Co Mo allso a certain Road to be twenty feet wide to be an outlet to the nearest County Road on land more fully described below and on which land will be known as Peter Hampel (Jun) upon the following conditions to wit: that said Joseph Hampel does and shall pay to the following named heirs (said heirs being all of my children) John Hampel, Wm Hampel, Joseph Hampel (to be incluted [sic]) Peter Hampel (Jun) Louis Hampel, Henry Hampel, Anton Hampel, Josephine Hampel and Anna Barbara Hampel the sum of Eleven Hundert [sic] Dollars said amount to be paid to them or their heirs two years after my death in Nine Equal Shares Each. second) I give and bequeath to my son Peter Hampel ten acres of Land off of N pt N W 1/4 of S W 1/4 in Section 34 Township 43 Range 5 E. allso all of forty acres of S W of N W 1/4 in Section 34 Township 43 Range 5 East. allso ten acres of N E 1/4 of S E 1/4 Section 33 Township 43 Range 5 East being in Jeff Co Mo upon the following conditions to wit: that said Peter Hampel (Jun) will and shall within two years after my death pay the sum of eight Hundert [sic] dollars to all of the above named Nine heirs Each to receive one Ninth part of said Eight Hundert [sic] Dollars (said Peter Hampel (Jun) to be incluted [sic] as one share) third) I give and bequeath to my son Henry Hampel Lot No twelve of Block thirty five Survey No Three City of Carondelet or South St. Louis the same being filed for Record in Recorders office of St. Louis County said Lot No twelve fronts 35 feet on fourth Str and runs Eastward by 140 feet along Tehson Street to an alley with all of the approvements thereon upon the following conditions to wit: over [page 2] that said Henry Hampel will and shall within two years of my Death pay the sum of Nine Hundert [sic] Dollars (himself incluted [sic]) to the within named Nine heirs Each of said heirs to receive one share of said amounts stated making Nine Equal Shares. 4) I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Anna Hampel all of my personal property of every description may it be stock, Notes, Money, House & Kitchen furniture and C C My beloved wife Anna shall allso retain possession of all Buildings lot or yard and the present garden on the within named Real Estate to her own use during her natural life and after her death the Buildings and garden shall then convert tot he rightfull owners as stated in this will and testament.
