My great grandmother was Elizabeth Gilbert born 10-06-1871 in St. Louis, Missouri. Her parents were Charles Gilbert and Catharine Casserly (or Cassidy). Elizabeth's birth records say her mother's maiden name was Casserly although everyone in my family has always said it was Cassidy. Charles was born in Germany and Catherine was born 1843 in Northern Ireland. It is said that they ran away together to get married and come to America.All her children (I believe four children) were born in St. Louis although they moved to Henniker, New Hampshire where Catharine died on 05-01-1912. Not sure where Charles died--perhaps St. Louis but it was probably between 1874-1880. Catharine is shown as a widow in NH in the 1880 census.
