Author: tstmarym Surnames: Walsh, King Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.stlouis/10380/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking for someone to contact regarding the records from St. Kevin's parish around 1897. My g-grandfather dropped his daughters off at St. Philomena's at the recommendation of Rev. E.J. Shea who was at St. Kevin's at the time. I'm hoping to find some church records of my grandmother's family such as my g-granmother's death, possibly my grandmother's baptism, etc. If anyone has any contact information for where the St. Kevin's records may be housed, it would be greatly appreciated. Author: BeckiLarson Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.stlouis/5124.5.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Carole, I don't know that your Sophia Leonhardt Reimers was buried in New Pickers since she died in 1852. New Picker's Cemetery opened in 1862. Another cemetery Holy Ghost was commonly known as "Pickers" was open then but has closed and many of the burials were moved to the "New Pickers". I also looked at a CD i have from the St. Louis Genealogical Society for The St. Louis Death Registry 1850 - 1908. I don't find a Sophia Reimers there either. The records at Pickers/Gatewood are questionable at best. We have found many burial in the old section that are not listed in the cemetery records.. I don't think the kept a lot of information on "removals' & "Relocated" graves. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The next thing I'm going to check is the county they were listed in for the 1910 census in Colorado because maybe he was taken back there because they weren't in Missouri for long.
