Author: cralmstedt Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.stlouis/10400.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: In the 1890 STL City Directory Ed. is listed as a traveling salesman for Charles E. Lewis, undertakers supplies (1900-funeral furniture). Charles' death cert. (born Canada 11/27/1847-died STL 9/23/1914) lists Father = John L., born Wales, Mother = Ellen Purcell, b. Ireland and wife lydia was the informant--good source. I don't subscribe to Ancestry's list for Canada but maybe your local library does. Charles says he emigrated 1862-1865 while Ed. says he emig. 1874. Ed. could have been hired because he was a fellow Canadian or a relative. It's a stretch, but all I can find easy. Good luck.
