His death certificate is found under Karen Hyder. That's the right census for him. he's also in the 1910 census as Hyder Karam. Nicholas's death certificate has him born in 1873 in Armenia but census records have Syria. My aunt, Karam's granddaughter, says Karam had 3 children, Isaac, Sadie, and another daughter who stayed in Lebanon. She's pretty sure she would remember having an uncle Nick. Does anyone know of information that can be researched regarding passengers on the steamboats that arrived in St. Louis in 1817-1818? I am assuming those that arrived would have to then take overland travel to arrive in Howard County. I discovered the Missouri River did not have steamboats on it until 1819.

Jennie and Matt Keefe buried at the same plot. Here deatch certificate from the State archives gives the informant as Mrs S. C. Inkley [Mrs. Samuel Carter Inkley] who was Marie Cullen in the 1910 census and later married Samuel Carter Inkley appearing in the 1920/30 census. I lose Jennie on the 1930 census. It at least gives me some other avenues. Unfortunately still haven't been able to find a marriage record for Jennie and Matt despite now having the Cahill reference. Also need to tie up the Marie Cullen link as being a "niece". Matt's death certificate or marriage certificate might nail the link back to Ireland for me. Trying to get the obit copies. Nevertheless - making progress! Thank you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Fortunately, a friend of mine located some of the JB files on Ancestry.com but she had a heck of a time finding them. FYI, they were on Ancestry under Returns from U.S. Military Posts, 1800-1916: Rolls 0501-0600 : Huntsville, AL Through Larned, Fort, KS > Jefferson Barracks, MO > Jan 1889-Dec 1897. We also learned that my ancestor died at Ft. Bayard in 1906 from TB. After learning so much about JB, I would love to visit it. Thanks for your report on the ground! J.B. as it is also known, is a military base and also a National Cemetary. I do not think the base is active anymore or if it is just for general use, Anyone is able to enter and there is no security there so I assume it is just miltary offices at this time, You can find out if Charles Campbell is buried there, and if so it what area of the cemetary. The Cemtary has all this info in their files.. Unfortunately as you suggest, the records that you have indicated don't tie up. I'd like to find the marriage record but can't find anything for 1898 St. Louis (as in the 1910 census) but have turned up nothing - a military record suggests that Matt was in the infantry before he was married and so they weren't necessarily married in St. Louis.
