That would have been right on the Mississippi River Bank, that area was warehouses, landing wharfs,etc. and was definitely subjet to floods, not a good place for a hospital or such. According to the St. Louis Public Library, there are many mistakes on the burial permits. I would look for the place elsewere on Market St. as it was and is, a major street in St. Louis. I tried to get birth certificates for brothers of a grandmother, and got no help. Was told that they don't give out information to cousins. Is there any other way of getting this information? I have very little in the way of information on this side of the family. J'Anette

Supposedly my uncle, a policeman, is standing next to the mayor or some such dignitary. The picture reportedly used to hang in the St. Louis Police Station downtown.
