    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/WMB.2ACE/4638.1 Message Board Post: Since you have a date of death for your uncle, try the St. Louis Public Library for a copy of the obituary. YOu could also ask if they could find a newspaper article about your uncle's death. See item #13 to email your request. http://www.slpl.lib.mo.us/libsrc/geneinfo.htm You could also ask the staff to look for them in the city directories-not every year but every 3 or 5 years. The directories go up to 1980 according to their website. Send the request for city directory look ups separate from the obits/news article request. The library charges a small fee to cover the cost of copying and postage. They will bill you when they send the copies.

Surnames: Sieferer, Siefer, Seifer, Schaefer, Schaffer Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/WMB.2ACE/4629 Message Board Post: Dear all, I desperately need to do some look-ups of my potential relatives in the "St. Louis City Deaths" (1850s). So if someone is located in St. Louis, MO., and could help me out with my research it would be very much appreciated. (I am from Germany and cannot do it myself). I wonder if the original entries (probably on microfiche?) can give me some information about the family of the deceased. These are the names and the details which I found using the ancestry search: (1) Sophia Siefeer, died 05/08/1854, from Germany, rests on City Cemetery, St.Louis: Volume C, page 152, County Library RDSL2, Miss. Archive C10360, SLGS Rolls 301; (2) Joseph Sieferer, died 12/11/1859, from Germany, rests on Holy Ghost Cemetery, St.Louis: Volume I, page 72, County Library RDSL5, Miss. Archive C10363, SLGS Rolls 305; (3) Rosalia Schaeffer, died 12/15/1856, from Germany, rests on City Cemetery, St.Louis: Volume E, page 132, County Library RDSL3, Miss. Archive C10361, SLGS Rolls 302; Thank you very much for your help, Alexander (Heidelberg, Germany)

Surnames: woods or Euston Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/WMB.2ACE/3830.1.1.2 Message Board Post: Thanks Robert for replying but the Woods family I'm talking about were all born in St. Louis and my greatgrandparents married there but then divorced in the 1920's and she moved to Wheeling W.Va. and no one ever spoke of him again. Louis Francis Woods was his name and he did have a older brother George , sister Alice etc. A large family of nine children. Anyway, my father is getting up in his years and never knew his grandfather and it has always been a mystery so I'm on this search. He was a banker and the families were fairly afluent and I think he fell out of grace in the divorce. If you come across anything let me know. DeeDee Woods McCuskey
