Question for those in with a St. Louis County Library card....have you had trouble using the home access to St. Louis Post-Dispatch [NewsBank] I called the library and they clicked on it from their location and they said it works just fine. I am attempting to use the St. Louis Post Archives from NewsBank. I have been using this link in the past, but after the first of the year, I have been unable to access the site. I am using this page, for home access. http://www.slcl.org/reference/Electronic_Resources/index.html scrolling down and clicking on St. Louis Post-Dispatch [NewsBank] I get an error. "The specified server could not be found" I would just like to know if anyone else is having problems. Linda in MO

Hi Everyone, Just in case anyone needs additional years of these newspapers, St. Louis _Public_ Library has the following years: Amerika (German-Democratic): 1881-1924 Anzeiger Des Westen (German-Independent): 1835-1898 Westliche Post(German-Republican): 1857-1938 We also have the Arbeiter Zeitung (German-Socialist) from 1898-1910, the Deutsch Blatter, the Herold des Glaubens, the St. Louis Tageblatt, and a couple of others that are _very_ short runs. Hope this helps. I do not know exact date. I beleiev last residence was Saint Louis City as well. I am hoping an obit will list any survivors and possibly name her parenst as well. I am pretty certain her maiden name was Cook but I would love to confirm this info somehow. She would have been born in OH. Daughter of Rolla Cook and Clara May Taylor. Any help or advice greatly appreciated. I just got her fathers obit which names her as Freda Zimmer in 1963 living in Granite City IL. I am hoping this is her because there were only two listed in SSDI and this one is so close in area. Does anyone know what newspapers serve this area? Maybe I could contact them and see if they have the obits in archives.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/WMB.2ACE/3906.1.1 Message Board Post: Esther, All info I had indicates that Emma Sophia (whom my records show as Sophia E) was the daughter of Christian Rehling and Anna Stahlberg. My records on Christian Rehling and Anna Stahlberg, shown married in 1858, had the following children: Christian Frederick b. 1859 Anna b 1861 Sophia b. 1863 Catherine b. 1864 Christian b. 1865 I show Henry Rocklage as having four children: Ida b 1875 Lena b 1876 Heinrich b 1879 Hulda b ? For now my conclusions are based upon the birth dates of children, although the 1880 US Census conflicts with it somewhat. I have an exhibit from an estate settlement from one of the grandchildren of Grandparent's Rocklage. It lists Henry, Ida, Lena, Hulda, Sophia, Anna, Chris and Fred as their Grandchildren. The men clearly have either Rocklage or Rehling surnames. The women have their married names. Hand written notes on the page list Sophia and Anna as half aunts and Chris Rehling as a half uncle and Fred Rehling as deceased. This says that the estate which was from the Rocklage side was from Henry's bloodline thus making Sophia a Rehling if she was a half aunt. As you can see, I am missing some hard evidence about Christian's children as well as the actual marriage date of Anna and Henry. Lacking also is information about Sophia Wittler's family beyond that she had four children, Ida Hartwig, Emma Weber, Louis Wittler and Henrietta Schneider. The estate info lists Louis Wittler as having a son Louis Jr. and Henriietta a son Lester. If you could fill in some of the missing info I'd love to help you further with what else I know from my line through Anna Leber.
