Surnames: Wiedensohler, Widensohler, Vierling Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/WMB.2ACE/4885.3.1 Message Board Post: Bonjour Geneviève, Unfortunately I don't know more than that there was a marriage between these two people, the information is from the Mormon webpage IGI (www.familysearch.org). I have a related Sophie Wiedensohler in St. Louis who was a widow, probably she was the person who married Joseph Vierling in 1882 in St. Louis Missouri. Where do you live? My father's ancestors are from the village Gündlingen, today part of Breisach in Baden. Very close to Alsace. I have a few ancestors from the Alsace area, and I think that some other people from Gündlingen may have moved over the Rhine river. The name "Widensohler" for example is a typical family name from Gündlingen, first mentioned around 1650. It is said that this name was given to a man who came to Gündlingen from Widensolen, Alsace after the 30-Years War. By the way, your english is nearly perfect, there's no need to excuse! Sorry that I'm not able to write in french. I have a cousin in the nort-west corner of France, and we use to correspond in english. I would be interested to know about the family names you are researching in Alsace. Probably we have some names in common. Best regards Andreas Zipfel-Waag Not to forget, I live in Karlsruhe, former capital of the former Grand-Duche de Bade.

I am seeking marriage information on a Paul Girndt and Clara Larsen. They eloped to Missouri to marry in 1908. They were living in Chicago and I understand St. Louis was the first stop going west from Chicago by train at that time. I am sorry not to have a more specific date or place. If you can help me, I would be most appreciative and am willing to reimburse for expenses, such as copying, postage, etc. If I were coming to St. Louis, where would I look for such a record? Thanks again!

    2. Perhaps, if you have exhausted vital records and orphanages in the City of St. Louis, you can try the same for the County of St. Louis, then widen your circles to include St. Charles, St. Peters, Eureka, go across the river into Belleville and Edwardsville. The Elm may be an abbreviation for Elmer, Elmos, Elmore, Elmo. Hope this gives you some more ideas. Maureen

Both her parents died in some sort of Accident when she was small. She was put in an orphanage and that is all I know. I believe someone said she was adopted to a farm family that over worked her, that is why she ran away at a young age to get married. I am having trouble finding death records on two Wynn's in St. Louis Where she was born. Does anyone have any ideas on finding this family? Or maybe Wynn is her adopted name? I don't know. She married young her husband was Elm Atkinson Cole born in PA about 1881 or 1882 I find Elm to be an odd name but that is what it looks like on my Grandmothers birth Certificate, I don't know where they married because they left the state as they were too young at that time for MO.
