He was born Mar 19, 1909 Fredonia, Wilson Co., KS d Nov 23 1968 Moran, KS married to Leona Porter Feb 10, 1938. Does this appear to be the same Francis Ward? Our Francis is the son of John D. Ward (1871- 1937) who is the son of Mathias MacChessney Ward (1842-1897). I do not recognize any of the other Ward names you list. Perhaps yours is a completely different line. But our Francis had a brother Raymond. And closer to us Mathias' son by second wife was Charles Henry Ward (1881-1953) who had a son Ray Cecil Ward (1901-1992). Ray Cecil Ward is my uncle. Mathias, my great grandfather, was born in Osage Co., MO and died in Wilson Co. KS Rosemary M. Ward Matthews

    2. Virginia Schimmelpfenig
    3. Researching the Dieckmann family who resided in the Metro St. Louis area from, possibly, 1850's to present. I know a Herman Dieckmann was living here and married at Salem Lutheran Church in 1876. In 1887 he purchased a farm in the North County area in Black Jack fire district. Names are Casper DIECKMANN, Herman DIECKMANN, August DIECKMANN. Some records show spelling as Dickmann. Herman married a RATHKE. August married a HUFENDICK. Casper may have fathered many children or came with many brothers. I know there is another branch with many of the sames names in the North County area. I am doing the research for the last remaining DIECKMANN son of August. Virginia in St. Louis schimmelpfenig@sbcglobal.net

Annie died 3/1974 and one of her daughters is listed as Mrs. Henry Person of Kirkwood, MO. My grandfather, Norman Phelps Mason, lived with his Aunt Annie and Uncle Charles in 1900 and in the 1950's attended a football game in AL with one of his cousins who was married to a Person and was an automobile dealer perhaps in the Anniston area. Finding out that Mrs. Henry Person lived in Kirkwood, Mo in 1974, was a surprise. Does anyone know of this family, a car dealership perhaps? Any information would be most appreciated.
