Elsie had the old fashion phone (tall and slender) in her hand. Jack (handsome young man) was in a suit. I also have a baby picture of him. They were cousins to my maternal grandmother. There grandfather was John Scully Jr. and ?Catherine Fox and they lived in Collinsville and East St. Louis, IL. John was a coalminer in Collinsville and owned a saloon in East St. Louis near the river in the early 1900's. John and his wife are buried in Mt.Carmel Cememtery in Belleville, IL. I also have pictures of their stones. How are you related to Elsie and John if you are? I know for a while, as children, the Oehlers lived in Chicago. I recently learned that it was a Polish custom to call a person named Constantine "Gus'. Since then I have come across two other instances where a Gus was baptised Constantine. Your Gus was baptised at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in La Salle, IL. on 30 Jan 1878. He was born 28 Jan 1878 to Joseph Panek & Antonina Tomaszewski. Gus & his wife Ida were listed in the probate papers of his brother, Walter Panneck. Joseph's parents, Thomas & Weronika (Waloch) Panek also immigrated to La Salle. Many of the Panek/Panneck and Waloch/Walloch families immigrated to La Salle and became prominent in the community. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have a copy of Gus Edward Panneck's death certificate with the information you offered. Most of his life he lived in Jonesboro, Craighead Co., Arkansas with his wife, Ida, and children. She is buried in Jonesboro, AR. We know he worked for the railroad, but can't get any of those records. All we know is that he left the family, and continued to work for the railroad. I found in the 1930 census he was residing in the Missouri area and when I printed the census, it includes just men and Gus as a switch foreman. I am hoping to find that there are relatives in the Missouri and Illinois areas because it states in several censis that he was born in Illinois. Maybe after I find some relatives, then I can fill in the gaps. Thank you for replying. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
