Joseph Herzog had two wives (1st Mary, 2nd Bertha) had children with both. His first two daughters from first marriage look to have a different state of birth on an early census record. The rest of the children were all born in MO. They lived near Kimmswick, MO which was a very important river town. Later some of the children married and moved to St. Louis. I don't have a record yet how they arrived or where. Joseph served a short time during the Civil War. His son George Herzog is my great grandfather. I don't think the 3 Herzogs in my database will be of much help, but you never know. I have Albert Herzog born Dec 19 1864 and died april 19 1952 At Firman Desloge Hsp. St. Louis. His death record says he was born in France. Albert Married into my Creely line. He married Marie Constance Creely. Albert is Buried at Vahalla Cem. He had a brother 'Frank Herzog' born june 15 1872 and died Nov 24 1929. His death record says he was born in Germany. Frank was single lived at 307 Cerre St. buried Calvary Cem. St. Louis Their parents were Frank Herzog and Agatha Freiburger. Of course who ever filled out the death info may not have know for sure. Then I have a Frances 'Fannie' Herzog. Born Oct 3 1868 at Magnolia Plantation, Nachitoches, Louisiana. Died sometime after 1910 as far as I can figure. She married Jean Baptiste (dit Lamy) Chopin Dec 24 1893 and I have 6 or 7 children for them. Chopin parents were (Dr) Victor Jean Baptiste Chopin/Chaupin and Julia Benoit. (FYI - One of JB's brothers Oscar Chopin was married to Katherine O'Flaghtery - She was the author of several books, probably most known for 'The Awakening'. Kate Chopin had a stroke at the Louisiana Purchase Expo in St. Louis, MO) I don't know if there is any connection of Albert and Frank to Fannie. These Herzog's married into my lines, so I haven't done much researh on them If you see a connection or hint of one, please let me know Pat
