The 1910, 1920 and 1930 census records for Randolph Twp. St. Francois County Missouri show the family of John Jefferson Tucker and Victoria. John J. Tucker died April 1935 in St. Louis, Mo and was buried in Elvins/Desloge/Flat River Missouri, St. Francois County. So, Victoria must have married Geo. Snyder after 1935. All the children were Tuckers, not Snyder. Jesslia Petschke nee Tucker died 1963 in Calif. Lois McClanahan nee Tucker died 1975 St. Francois County, Missouri. Anna Muskopf nee Tucker died 12-27-1996 in St. Louis Missouri. Bernice Hutson nee Tucker died July 1992 St. Francois County, Missouri. Mildred Serena Hoffner nee Tucker died 12-30-2002 in St. Louis Missouri. You should be able to get Anna and Mildred's obituaries from the St. Louis Public Library at http://www.slpl.lib.mo.us/libsrc/obit.htm . Jesslia married 1911 - 1913. Anna married 1925. Mildred married 1934. Victoria died 3-15-1956 in St. Louis but was buried in Desloge, Missouri. Presumably with her first husband, John. Hello, I am in the process of going through my great-uncle's collection of really old family photos, some of them of the William and Josie BAY family of Meramec, MO. This is a completely new area of Missouri for me, as well as a complete new family. They were a step-grandparents (if there's such a thing) to my Grandma. I am hoping to find some living descendants to pass these wonderful photos on to. They were in Meramec, MO in the 1900 census: (and from the number of even older portraits from St. Louis area photographers, the family was in Missouri for several decades - but I have no clue at all who his father or mother is) William (Wm) L. Bay; b. Mar 1862 in MO d. 1952, Fresno, CA Josephine; b. Aug 1854 in IN {this was not her first marriage} d. 1944 in the Los Angeles area And sons: James (b Mar 1890, MO - d. 24 Oct 1962, Fresno, CA) And: Guy (b Aug 1895, MO) The family moved to Oregon by 1910 In 1920, the oldest step/half brother from Josie's first marriage and the William Bay family are both living in Fresno County, California. Wm & Josie move to Covina by 1930, and are there for some time. She passes away there, he is back in Fresno to pass away in 1952. Their son James is a veteran, presumably during WWI - although I don't have those details, he passed away in the VA hospital in Fresno in 1962. He was living with them in the 1930 census, and my Aunt remembers that he lived with them every time she was taken as a child to visit "Grandma and Grandpa Bay" I believe that James was married because a post card is addressed to them Mr. & Mrs, a note from (someone) addresses them as Aunt and Uncle. Another correspondence makes reference to Mr. James Bay Sr. Which makes a good case for a Jr. Somewhere/somewhen. But Veteran's Hospital correspondence about his autopsy was sent to his half-brother, not a son or daughter. What resources exist that will help me find more about the Bay family and William's parents in Missouri? I'm still working on my California sources to find more information about the son which I know came to CA. Thank you! Deb Christensen

I feel the same way Mary, I had been at a dead end on some stuff for years, and thought I would just take a month. Years ago, I couldn't get my subscription cancel from Ancestry and had a really unpleasant expierience with them and said never again, but I did give them one more chance. But It is annoying that they take the information for free and charge for it, then they make it so hard to find it too. I have never been a fan of ancestry.com. First I think they take information from people for free and then sell it. Second they have locked up so much information and the only way to get it is to pay for it. I don't believe in that kind of genealogy. I believe in sharing for free. That's the true spirit. Any family member that wants my work is gracefully given copies. That is what has been done for me. I have had people send me 65 pages of their work and charged me nothing and I have reciprocated. The Missouri Probate and Will files are at the St. Louis County Library on Lindbergh. I was told by a librarian that they are the same as on the MO web site. I believe that they may be the same as the LDS site. You can call the library and they would most likely be able to help you.
