Are there records that I can access to get this information. I do not know if the school was high school, college or both. His name was Robert McCoy Walker, born 1917 and so would have graduated high school about 1935 and college 1939/40. My parents divorced when I was 8 and I never saw him again. Since he signed Matilda's death cert. as "informant" he was still alive & might have contributed to an obit. When he died, there may have been no one to write his, or there may be one if he had a wife/family that wrote it. There doesn't seem to be a wife buried with him. I did have that information but was so surprised to receive it so rapidly. I think one child was named Samuel. All three were buried in the old Pickers Cemetery (Old Holy Ghost) and then moved by his wife Mary Williams Toll, to Bellefontaine Cemetery later. I am trying to find when he immigrated here from Cardiff, Wales. I don't know where he and Mary married. Could have been in Wales or Pittsburgh, Penn. where he shows on the 1840 census with some of his children. Mary and her children are listed under John Toll in 1850 in St. Louis. Louis public library has an obituary index, but they don't have those years (1957 or 1985) listed. You can ask the library to do a look up for you. You can also look on the website for random acts of genealogy kindness at www.raogk.org I notice that there are some volunteers there who will do obituary lookups. I don't know when and I don't know when or where he married Mary Lewis. His son,my g. grandfather, John Williams, was born about 1840-1842 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. There were other children. The family moved to St. Louis, Mo. in the late 1840's. There John (the father) and a young son, Samuel died in the Cholera epidemic. Mary Lewis Williams then married a John Toll and he raised her children and their children. Her death certificate states that she was born in Wales. Also, in 1860, on their St. Louis, Missouri farm there was a David Lewis living with them. He was 16 and from Wales also. David was not listed in 1850 or 1870. I don't know of the relationship. I would be delighted with any information you can send me. Perhaps you can find where Mary Lewis and John Williams were married. Who knows. I am grateful for any news.
