    3. LEAD BELT NEWS, Flat River, St. Francois County, Missouri, Friday, March 10, 1939 RICHARD M. DUNCAN Richard Marion Duncan passed away rather suddenly at his home in Esther, at 1:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 8, 1939, aged 78 years 3 months 5 days. Funeral services will be held at the family residence at one o'clock, Friday afternoon, March 10th, conducted by Rev. Chas. Wilson of Cantwell. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery. Benham Service. Richard Marion Duncan was born in Madison County, Missouri, December 3, 1860, the son of the late Marion and Mary Campbell Duncan. He was united in marriage on November 10, 1883, to Mary Williams, and to this union eight children were born, two daughters, Etta and Gertie (Mrs. Clarence) Thomas, having preceded their father in death. He is survived by his widow and the following six children: Reuben Duncan of Overland, Mo.; Anna (Mrs. Thos.) Powell of Piedmont, Mo.; Bert Duncan of East Bonne Terre; Willard Duncan of St. Francois; Ethel (Mrs. John) Burks of St. Louis and Torrence Duncan, at home. He also leaves seventeen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. He was converted many years ago and united with the Free Will Baptist Church at Mine La Motte.
