Sgt Robert A Burns has been reported missing in action in Germany since November 20 according to a message from the War Department, received on Tuesday by his grandmother, Mrs. Wm. Burns of Bonne Terre, who adopted him in infancy and reared him. Sgt Burns is 23 years of age and has been in the millitary service for three years. He received training in Oregon, Arizona, California and Colorado. He was serving in the Infantry and was sent overseas in September 1944. The last letter received from him was dated November 14. Before entering service he was employed in the meat department at the Flat River Kroger store. I have the original newspaper clipping with a photo of Sgt Burns if anyone is interested, I will give it to you. donaldyeager@charter.net
