Thank you for this info also Barbara. I believe I have most of this info, except for the date of death and the parentage of Louis Courtois (my maternal grandfather). I did not have his date of death, however, there is a family story that his death was accidental. He supposedly was cutting down a tree when it fell prematurely and one of the limbs went through him pinning him to the ground. The story goes on to say that he had recently had his boots re-soled, but when they found him the heels of the boots were severely worn down. Apparently he spent quite some time trying to free himself.
