    3. A BOY, A DYNAMITE CAP AND A GRINDSTONE. Dewey Morris and his little brother, children of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Morris of Flat River have been visiting their uncle Mr. Albert Lahay at his farm about 12 miles East of Bonne Terre. Wednesday morning the children discovered some brass things that looked like they needed polishing up and they at once proceeded to use the grindstone, little twelve year old Dewey holding the brass trinket which proved to be a dynamite cap as it exploded in his hand blowing away a part of the forefinger of his left hand. Mr. and Mrs. Lahay gave the hand a temporary dressing and brought the boy to Bonne Terre Hospital. NOTE: The above article came to me as an undated newspaper clipping. Dewey was 12 years old at the time of this incident. If anyone has Dewey's date of birth, that would give me an approximate date of this article. Given other articles in the collection, I estimate it to be between 1905-1910, but that could be wrong.
