THE LEAD BELT NEWS, Flat River, MO, Friday, Feb. 6, 1920. L. D. Close died Monday afternoon at his home in Taylortown after an illness of ten days. He contracted influenza, which was followed by pneumonia. The funeral service was held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 1:30, after which the remains were taken to the new Masonic cemetery for interment. His wife was Miss Grace Clay previous to her marriage, and is a sister to J. H. Clay, proprietor of a grocery store in Taylortown. Deceased also leaves four brothers, one sister and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his loss.
