I am searching for Eli or Elihu S. Day in a 1870 or 1880 Census. Anyone who knows what happened to this person, I would appreciate the help. His death certificate has him born Eli S. Day born 2-16-1857 in Centralia, Illinois. His death is Jan 23, 1920 in Jefferson, Crystal City MO. His middle name was know Shep. The death certificate also list both his parents in Tenn. His father is listed as W.M. Jacob Day, his mothers name is not ledgable. I have not been able to learn who his parents are. There is a posiblility that he was in St.Francois Co. during this time period with his parents. Thank you for any help you may have to offer. He married Barbara Ellen Boyer in 1880-1881. In 1880 she was in the Cater co. Jackson Twp census at 16 years old. I could not find him there. I would have thought he was near this area. I have him in 1900 with his family, Mill Spring, Wayne, MO.at the age of 36. There was a discrepancy with his birth year in this census of 1865 vs. 1857 I have him in the 1910, 1920 census with his family in Mo. Jefferson, Crystal City Thank very much, Your help is most appreciated, Diana
Eli S. Day (1857-1920) and his wife, Barbara E. Day (1865-1940) are buried in the Gamel Cemetery in Festus, Mo., Jefferson Co., Mo. You can find them along with a photo of their tombstone at the website Find A Grave. You should be able to locate her death certificate also.
