    3. The Lead Belt News, Flat River, Missouri Friday, July 2, 1943. FLAT RIVER NEWS. Harlan Marler, Seaman Second Class, who enlisted in the U. S. Navy March 12th and has just completed boot training at the U. S. Naval Training Station, Farragut, Idaho, enjoyed a 10-day furlough with his mother, Mrs. Alice Mouser of St. Francois, and his brother, Farrell Wayne Marler, other relatives and friends. He left Friday and was accompanied by his mother to St. Louis where she visited her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Redfern and two sons, John Dale and Larry Gene, and another son, Willis Marler. Willis was until recently in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in March, after spending seven weeks in a hosptial for treatment for stomach trouble.
