The Lead Belt News, Flat River, MO, Nov. 5, 1948. HENRY E. SMITH. Henry Clayborn Smith, son of the late Jack and Margaret Smith, was born at Blodgett, Mo., on December 31, 1895, and passed away at his home in Esther on October 29, 1948, aged 52 years 9 months 29 days. Death was due to a heart attack. He was a veteran of World War I and had been a resident of St. Francois County for 29 years. On August 16, 1919, he was united in marriage to Myrtle Mae Sinuard at Charleston, Mo. They were the parents of three children, a daughter having preceded him in death in 1920. He is survived by his wife and two children, Harry Smith of Flat River and Jennie Ellis Smith, at home. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Ida Wallace of Sikeston; two brothers, J. R. and William Smith of St. Louis and two uncles, George and Charles Pope of Marquand, besides other relatives and many friends. Funeral Services were held Sunday afternoon at the Assembly of God Church, conducted by Rev. Powhattan Huffman. Interment was in Parkview Cemetery, with Caldwell Service. ------------------------------------ Flat River News. Out of town relatives who came here to attend the funeral service for Henry C. Pope, Sr. of Farmington; Misses Freda and Esther Smith of St. Louis; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Huber of Farmington; Lottle Mouser of Fredericktown; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pope of Marquand; Roy Smith of Cape Girardeau; Mrs. Dora Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Smith of Oran; Mr. and Mrs. James Wallace, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wallace and three children, Cecil, Buddy, Junior, Tommy and Billy Wallace of Sikeston; Mr. and Mrs. Grant Andrew and Hubert Andrew and family of Morley; Mr. and Mrs. Revelle McDaniels of Chaffee; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Campbell, Myrtle Withlow and Catherine Ellis of Birmingham, Ala., and Lester Wallace of Springfield, Ill. Friends attending were Mr. and Mrs. Levi Smith and family of St. Louis; D. Skaggs of Marquand; and Mr. and Mrs. Clay Mullins of Farmington.
