    3. The Lead Belt News, Flat River, MO., Friday, November 26, 1948. DOE RUN MAN IS SUICIDE VICTIM. John M. Brann was found dead at his home in Doe Run on Sunday, November 21, with a gunshot wound in the head. He had apparently shot himself with a 12 gauge shotgun. He was 79 years of age. An inquest was held at 2 p.m. on Monday by Coroner Berl J. Miller, at the Miller Funeral Home, where a verdict of suicide was returned. Relatives and friends have stated that he had been ill and despondent for a long while. Funeral services were held at the Miller Chapel at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, with services by Jehovah's Witnesses. Interment was in the Glenda Cemetery, northeast of Farmington. Mr. Brann had never married, and his only close surviving relative is a sister, Mrs. Frank Counts, with whom he lived.
