    3. Might have had a job opportunity in NY. Were there other relatives in NY? Train travel in the 1890's was common. My question is: Her parents were first in Missouri where 2 children were orn....then went to New York (if that is correct (where G'ma was born) then ack to Missouri for more children there. I don't understand the moving ack and forth between Missouri and New York. To me it see's unlikely. hat do you think? In the late 1890's it wasn't that easy to pack up and go lsewhere. Still haven's found info about my gr,gr grand parents for Komar. I am the guy that you helped for this family. I resubmitted my query now thinking I might find out something new. I don't remember that North Carolina was part of the their destination points. Might have been New York as my grandmother might of been born there (Newburgh) Oh yes I am in Montana and the Komar family also. Thank you, Rick -----Original Message----- From: mostfran-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:mostfran-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Donald Yeager Sent: Saturday, September 11, 2010 8:30 PM To: mostfran@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MOSTFRAN] Kamer/ Komar About a year and a half ago, I did some research on this man and his family. I no longer have that paper work as I did it for another decendent of John's Off the top of my head with what I remember, John and his wife with children came from North Carolina to Missouri about 1887 where he found work in the mines. He did live in Bonne Terre, Mo but later moved to I think Nebraska not positive about the state however, in the census he was counted in both states. John went ahead to find work before bringing his family on the move . The man I helped with this was a direct decendent as well. And he lived in the same town where John and his family moved. That's all I can remember. Sorry. Check the census, he was a boarder in the other state. We figured that his wife didn't know if they would be moving or not so they counted him as being in Mo. This was one of the few cases I found this happened. I hope this helps. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick Mayernik" <rmayer@3rivers.net> To: "Missouri Genealogy" <MOSTFRAN@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 08, 2010 5:07 PM Subject: [MOSTFRAN] Kamer/ Komar > Hello- > > My paternal Great Grandfather, John KOMAR resided in St. Francios > County Missouri (maybe Bonne Terre) . . . on the 1900 census for St. > Francios County his occupation is written as "bar loader in lead > mine."
