Ruth, Rebecca sent me your photos yesterday. That's how I knew where Ellis' stone came from. As far as I know, the property on which the cemetery is situated belongs to the Murrys who own the trucking company there. I'm not sure about funds being available to restore old cemeteries. You might be able to find something on that on the State of Missouri website, or maybe Mabel Reed might know something about that. I bet you'd have to jump through a lot of hoops to get it. There's a guy named Ron Highley from Arkansas who was in the area recently and talked to the Murrys about the cemetery. His emails show up as Denise Highley on the mailing list. If you want to email him and have problems finding his email, let me know as I probably have it on the subscriber list for the St. Francois County Mailing List. Hi Bettye, I took pictures of this cemetery a few years ago for Rebecca Highley May and they look pretty much like the pictures you have here with the exception that Ellis Highley's stone was still standing on its base then. Someone told me at one time there were funds available to restore old cemeterys, is there any truth to that or was that just a rumor and if so, do you know where I can inquire? Also, I haven't checked it out but I suppose I could find out who actually owned the property, I know many years ago, Mable Reed contacted my Dad to see if he owned the property and he had no interest in fixing up the old cemetery and sorry to say, I was not into genealogy back then. Perhaps if something can be done, we could generate enough interest to get it taken care of. Any thoughts? Ruth ----- Original Message ----- From: "B. I just noticed that I had a typo on year of death for Sarah (Baker) McKee. I had 1932 and it should have been 1832. The error has been corrected. Sorry about that! A partial listing for this cemetery has just been put online. This listing is not complete and probably never will be. This cemetery dates back to the mid-1800s and there are many unmarked graves. At present this listing just includes photos of tombstones as of November 2008. I am in the process of gathering obits and other documentation concerning burials for which there are no tombstones. I am also gathering obits on marked graves so I can add names of parents, spouses, maiden names, etc. to the listing. If you know of graves which are unmarked, please send me names(s) and approximate date(s) of death. Thank you. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mostfran/cemeteries/herod_haile_cemetery_index.htm Bettye

Well, I had sent it out one time & it didn't go through - said something about too many recipients as I was also sending to everyone on my private email list & that it needed approval from the MoSt.FranCo administrator or something. So I took off all the other email recipients & tried sending it through again & it went through last week. Guess this is the first one that didn't go through the first time? ----- Original Message ----- From: Ruth Carver To: mostfran@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, November 23, 2008 6:17 PM Subject: Re: [MOSTFRAN] Question About Valle Mines Isn't this a repeat of the question ask last week regarding Valles Mines? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Esther M.
