I am not sure what kind of computer you have or operating systems as that may make a difference but I am using a PC and Windows XP and what I do if I want to save an image from Ancestry is the following. First I right click on the image and select "Save Picture As" Second, after I right click on the image it automatically goes to "My Pictures" but it does allow for selecting others such as My Documents. Third, when I right click and am in "My Pictures" I select my own file name and then "Save" Fourth, the size of the image may not be most desirable to you so I will resize it if necessary. At that time, would you also send a general outline of the extended family - full names/dates of all children for James Cunningham, Sr.? - plus known spouses of his daughters (especially Lillian's). (Sometimes a mention might be made in a family member's will/probate that will show a connection.) Ms. Bishop's, Ms. Carver's, and Ms. Warner's responses were very appropriate to the subject. After those response, people seemed to be inserting in their private comments and opinions and in my opinion this board is not meant to replace Facebook, Twitter, MySpace or whatever else exists for people to chat with each other. Seems like every once in awhile, list subscribers forget what this list is about. I hope ya'll delete this after you read it. It is just taking up Rootsweb space like some of the other non-genealogical comment I have read below. By the way, I cleaned up the e-mails that were sent to save space and make it more logical. Probably what happened is that Gary AuBuchon, a genealogist who subscribed to this list and some other genealogy mailing lists, passed away and a relative, in order to let his contacts know what happened to him (rather than leaving it to speculation -- "whatever happened to Gary Aubuchon I used to email with?" -- sent the message of his illness and death to everyone in his address book. I have seen this happen before. Also sometimes a relative or friend will post on a message board that the deceased frequented, in order to let others know why that person no longer posts. It is a modern day courtesy, and I don't think any harm is meant. I do agree, though, that the emails trailing after the post can get out of hand and are a problem. I don't know if there is a way to hide the "send list" when you do this kind of mass mailing, or not. Ms. Bishop's, Ms. Carver's, and Ms. Warner's responses were very appropriate to the subject. After those response, people seemed to be inserting in their private comments and opinions and in my opinion this board is not meant to replace Facebook, Twitter, MySpace or whatever else exists for people to chat with each other. Seems like every once in awhile, list subscribers forget what this list is about. I hope ya'll delete this after you read it. It is just taking up Rootsweb space like some of the other non-genealogical comment I have read below. By the way, I cleaned up the e-mails that were sent to save space and make it more logical. My sympathies to Gary's family.  I did not know him but he & his family still deserve respect.  I was appalled at some of the comments that were made.  I agree Debbie - if someone doesn't like something just delete it.  Esther M. Relax and just ignore this. The only thing that happened is the gentleman passed away, and a family member or close friend sent a general e-mail to everone in his address book, including the Mailing List he was a member of. The only comments on the subject are coming from members of this mailing list.   Unless a person who received the notice is a member of our mailing list, their comments will bounce and not be forwarded.   If you don't want to read any more comments on this incident, don't write about it. That is just what most of the members of this list are doing.   It's just something that happened. No one was intentionally sending spam to the list. They were just letting his on-line friends know he had passed. I do not know the Aubuchon family, I don't know any of you whose name appears in a message except I do know of Ms. Bettye Warner the list administrator for St. Francois Co., Mo. I do not have any interest in the original posting or any of the subsequent response but in my opinion enough is enough. Let this one drop please. Thank you. In my opinion, the original poster was remiss for including all the personal e-mail addresses in the posting. You can go on the net and find numerous places where they advise a person not to do it because giving out that information can lead to scam or spam brought to the person without their consent. I believe Mary Ann was correct in her assessment and for some unknown reason that stirred things up a bit. I think Ms. Warner would appreciate it if people who belong to the list stick to genealogy and not personal discussions. It appears that the original posting had merit but was lacking in e-mail courtesy. It should have stopped there. Ms. Bishop's, Ms. Carver's, and Ms. Warner's responses were very appropriate to the subject. After those response, people seemed to be inserting in their private comments and opinions and in my opinion this board is not meant to replace Facebook, Twitter, MySpace or whatever else exists for people to chat with each other. Seems like every once in awhile, list subscribers forget what this list is about. I hope ya'll delete this after you read it. It is just taking up Rootsweb space like some of the other non-genealogical comment I have read below. By the way, I cleaned up the e-mails that were sent to save space and make it more logical.
