    3. Yes, those are the parents I have listed for Veronica Grieshaber mg. to Nikolaus Jokerst. (See e-mail below for original reference.) Nikolaus was a brother of Michael Jokerst mg. to Zaezilia (Cecilia) Bahr - which is my line (on my grandmother's side). Michael Jokerst and Cecelia Bahr had a daughter, Mathilda Jokerst, who married William J. Fritsch. William was s/o Georg Fritsch who married (2nd of 3 husbands to) Maria Albertina Gegg. William J. Fritsch and Mathilda Jokerst had a daughter, 3rd in line of 6 children: Philomena Katherine Fritsch, who married Charles Ludwig Fischer. Charles Ludwig Fischer had parents Andreas Fischer (emigrated from Windschläg), and Caroline Ketterer (emigrated as a young child from Ebersweier). Caroline Ketterer was first married to William Jokerst, son of Andreas Jokerst and Kunigunda Grass. It is Caroline Ketterer's parents that I would like to clarify. From older family members research of census records that I have confirmed, I have them as Engelbert Ketterer and Crescantia (Creszensia) Basler. Apparently Engelbert and Crescantia only stayed in Ste. Gen. area for a time, then crossed the Mississippi where they lived and then died, maybe in O'Fallon or Trenton, Illinois. They had a son, Casimir, who joined them in Illinois, where he married Victoria Orschell. Caroline Ketterer (Jokerst) Fischer lived and died in Ste. Genevieve area after her immigration. She is buried in River aux Vases. There are two obituaries for her with conflicting information that I would like to straighten out. One was that she and Andrew Fischer had 9 children. This is incorrect, as identified with the 2nd obituary as Caroline had 6 children through William Jokerst, and then three later through Andrew Fischer (as noted in census records). Caroline is then listed in the obituary (that was wrong regarding the 9 children being Andrew's) as having parents "Mr. and Mrs. Kastmar Ketterer". Now I believe that also to be an error. I found a baptismal record for Caroline Zivilla Ketterer, d/o of Engelbert Ketterer and Crescantia Basler, in Ebersweier. She was born and baptized on 9 Jul 1846 and died 5 Nov 1935 at the home of her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Naeger, at River aux Vases. But like so many others, her tombstone reads, by listing in Rob Beckerman's book, 11 Jun 1845 as her birthdate. That is over a year off, so wish that obituary had not made the error of Kastmar as I don't think there was any other person by that name except a brother to Caroline, Casimir Ketterer, born and baptized on 3 Mar 1844 in Ebersweier also. I'm now working on the Jokerst's and Siebert's from Bohlsbach records. Nilolaus Jokerst, if her parents were Isadore and Ann Mare Woerter Grieshaber. I am working on the Siebert, Jokerst, Grieshaber, Herzog, Schilli families and many more from the Ste. Genevieve/ St. Francois MO area. The articles from the newspapers are wonderful, and have connected many of our families.......and have made their lives come to life. Thanks soooo much for your contribution to the history of our ancestors - everyone who has helped with this project. Melinda Herzog Landrith Auburn, CA.
