    3. Ste. Genevieve Herald, Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, Sat., March 20, 1886. COFFMAN ITEMS [By Jim Riffle] March 12, 1886. John Harter is sick. [Should this have been spelled Herter ?] James Burnette and Louis Thomure, of Pine Dale, will shortly remove to Dent County. Paul and Beverly Price, who have been attending school at the Cape, have returned to their home. The ball at Edward Bloom's last Monday was largely attended and well enjoyed by all present. Revs. Hale and Cummings conducted services at New Church last week; they had a number of additions to the church. Miss Laura Cheesebrough, one of our handsome young ladies, has gone to Libertyville to remain during the summer. We'll correct the error we made in our last correspondence about the closing of R. W. Clay's school; we should have said the 9th instead of the 2nd. John Gegg had a fine mare killed last week. He had the head of one of his mules chained down and the mare by some means got her head twisted in the chain, after which a struggle ensued and her neck was broken.
