John, Thank you for that info. So then Charles Conrad was maybe ??baptized on 17 October 1853? I found that date in Lucille's Basler's Pioneers of Old Ste. Genevieve book. She had parents John Jokerst and Theresia Brown for the parents of Charles Jokerst married to Theresa Siebert, who had a son, Charles Conrad, listed with the date 17 Oct 1853. From my Bohlsbach files, I have a family sheet made up for a Johannes Jokerst, dayworker and citizen of Bohlsbach, who was married to Theresia ?Braun (my questionable translation on this name was Braun vs. Brown). This family had many children which I'm still researching, but two that I have baptismal records for are "Karolus" and "Joseph". Lucille's research lists the 1st marriage of Charles Jokerst to Theresia Siebert, and the second marriage being Charles' brother, Joseph, to the same Theresia Siebert, daughter of "Barthelemy Siebert and Odila Mertz". I have another family sheet made up for what I think is that Siebert family from Bohlsbach. The father is Bartholomaus Siebert, master tailor, but the mother I was unsure of the script, so I wrote the script in my notes the best (in duplicate form) I could from the original record, and I now can definitely see the last name being Merz and the first might be ? Blotilda? I'd have to go back to the original record to recheck names and get other opinions on this. I only have one child listed thus far for this Siebert family who was "Theres" born 9 Aug 1832 and baptized 10 Aug 1832. But that seems to match the following that I found in Rob Beckerman's tombstone books: Theresia Jokerst Aug 9, 1832 (Bolsbach) - Apr 3, 1900 (Ste. Gen) Nee Siebert next to Joseph Jokerst Valle Springs Joseph Jokerst born Feb 24, 1825 died Aug 6, 1886 at 61 yrs., 5 mo., 13 days, according to tombstone records, though I have: Joseph Jokerst born 19 Feb 1825 baptized 20 Feb 1825 in Bohlsbach. The "Blotilda Merz" is an interesting possibility - as a child of the 2nd marriage, parents being Joseph Jokerst and Theresia Siebert, was "Caroline Clotilde", as listed in Lucille Basler's book. So I wonder if "Odila Mertz" had different spellings. But then buried next to Joseph Jokerst (from Rob Beckerman's book) was: Othilia Siebert born Baden June 3, 1805, and died Ste. Genevieve Jun 3, 1887 next to Bartholomew Siebert born Baden Aug 25, 1803, and died Jan 1, 1880, at 76yr, 4mo, 7d Carol -----Original Message----- From: John Krussel [mailto:krussel@lclark.edu] Sent: Monday, June 07, 2004 12:32 PM To: MOSTEGEN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MOSTEGEN] Charles Jokerst Carol, Actually there is another.
