The result of the election for Commissioner of Public Schools, as far as could be ascertained on Wednesday evening, was as follows: CLAY - 167 JANIS - 560 JANIS majority up to that day, 393. Mrs. M. MEYER had the hotel premises sodded and planted with ornamental shrubs and evergreens this week. The work was well done under the supervision of Frank DECK, who is quite a genius in that line, and the pleasing appearance of the surroundings add greatly to the attractiveness of the place.
