    3. Hi List, Does anyone know anything about any of the following families. Jasper Davis married (1) at Schuyler County Illinois in 1836, Elizabeth Hunter. Elizabeth died about 1862 and Jasper married (2) Ava (Riley) Hunter, widow of Benjamin F. Hunter, a brother of Elizabeth. In 1870 Jasper and Ava were living at St. Clair county. The children of Jasper and Elizabeth (Hunter) Davis were: 1) William H.; 2) Sarah E.; 3) Elizabeth; 4) Ann "Nancy;" 5) Grace. In 1879 the children of Benjamin and Ava (Riley) Hunter were living in the household of Jasper and Ava in St Clair county and they were called Davis in the census. I don't know whether they were formally adopted by Jasper or just assumed the Davis name. Those chileren were: 1) Sarah Jane [HUNTER] Davis, born January 4, 1858; 2) George Washington [HUNTER] Davis, born October 15, 1861. Three of the daughters of Jasper and Elizabeth married at St. Clair county. They were: 1) Sarah E. Davis married Thomas S. Norman June 2, 1867; 2) Elizabeth Davis married James Perrin January 2, 1868; and 3) Ann "Nancy" Davis married Joseph N. Perrin April 29, 1880. Does anyone have any information about any of these children of Jasper and anything about any of their descendants? Who were the parents of those marrying the Davis women? It's likely Joseph and James Perrin were brothers, not not necessarily so. Anything will help. Thanks, Bill Hunter
