    1. [MOSELY] Mozley, Mozeley, Mozely Descendants in USA
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Mozley, Mozeley, Mozely, Gathright, Bankston, etc Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Fl1.2ACEB/143 Message Board Post: I am researching the Mozley family and the descendants of the Mozleys. Variant spellings include Mosley, Moseley, Mosely, Mozely, Mozeley. Some descendants spell their name in the variant spellings due to various reasons. Some of the Mozley descendants have a family oral history of "If it is not spelled with a 'Z", they are not related." This statement is not true, My grandfather had two brothers who spelled their last name "Mosley" and some of the descendants spell it one way, others spell it with a "Z". I know that there are lots of Mozley Desc. out there and I personally would love to hear from you. There are two lines of Mozleys here in the US as far as I can tell. My line which originated in VA in the early 1700s, and another family that came into PA in the early 1800s. Some of them ended up in or near the same areas. It would be nice to hear from anyone who thinks that they may connect to either line. There is a Mozley genforum message board. You may find some info there that leads you to your ancestor. I have a Family Tree Maker Home page at: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/h/e/r/Colleen-Herrin/ My Mozleys migrated into the Carolinas on the way to GA, then to TN, AL, IL, MS, and then into TX, OK, MO, and other western states. My particular line came into AL from GA in 1904 and settled into Jefferson, Blount, Cullman, Morgan, De Kalb, and Marshall Counties. Thank you Mona
